hi..thanks for writing..i have understood your concerns..

Simple depression is not that much severe that a person will hurt oneself..it is something co-morbid to your depression that is playing the games...

i want to ask few questions?
1. whether your mood fluctuate rapidly even within the day?
2. whether you constantly feel insecure and want companion always?
3. whether u are emotionally unstable?
4. whether u love and hate same person at different times?
5. whether u engage yourself in reckless driving, substance use or sex?
6. whether u have fearfulness of unknown that lasts for very short duration of time?
7. whether u feel abandoned?

all these questions are to rule out any personality problem..because the self harming behavior is not common in depression..

the bumps developed because of the head injury, usually improve on its own..it is soft tissue injury and swelling..it will heal on its own..u can take pain killers to relieve pain..

i feel u must have a consulted a family doctor for the injuries..if skin has not cut open, then u shud not worry..

take proper advice from your psychiatrist and follow it..u shud also ask the reason for self harming behavior, it might be a part of personality disorder...

i hope u will find this advice helpful..best luck..
