I have what feels like a hairline crack in my skull, about 3 inches long going from my forehead to my hairline. It s only a small indent but is noticeable to touch. I ve not suffered any head trauma to cause this, and I ve not been suffering from any headaches, dizziness etc, it appears as purely cosmetic.

Hello,

You can feel a hairline crack on your skull from the forehead to the hairline. The indent is noticeable. You are not suffering from any headache, dizziness, etc. You want to get it treated for cosmetic reasons. You have not suffered any head trauma that can cause the indent. Indent may occur from weakened bones. Medical conditions like Osteoporosis, or medications that affect bone density and strength may cause hairline fractures even when performing normal, daily activities. Lack of vitamin D or calcium can make your bones more susceptible to fracture.

Take home made nutritious food rich in minerals, vitamin D and protein. To stay on the safer side get clinically examined by a GP. Get physical examination, MRI, CT, X-ray, bone scan done to stay on the safer side. Treatment for cosmetic reasons will be done by the use of fillers or fat transplant to help raise the indentations. If indentation is caused by your muscle, botox may work better. You are suggested to get connected to a plastic surgeon, get examined so that the treatment can be started at the earliest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
