Should I Take Her To Doctor For Temeperature And Cold With Cough?

My 10 month old daughter has a fluctuating temperature (which we are giving calpol to help ease) and cold/flu symptoms. She has an irritable phlegmy cough which is upsetting her(we have been giving cough medecine for 3 days for this). We're trying to get her to take food and fluids, but she will only accasionally sip at juice. She's only taken 5oz of formula in 3 days as she's just not interested. She has also lost her appetite and even favourite snack foods are being refused! When awake she is contstantly irritable and crying. When she manages to nap she is often woken by the cough and then is so distrressed its hard to get her to settle and sleep again. Should I take her to see a doctor immediately?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. Cough and cold are viral 95% of the times in children. For cold you can use anti-allergics like cetirizine and for nose block, saline nasal decongestants will do. Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly, that too only if temperature is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
Fast breathing, lethargy, respiratory distress, inability to feed (Not to confuse with disinterest in feeds), are the danger signs which should urge you to take her to a doctor.
