Sharp, Intense Pangs On Right Side After Periods. On Good Diet And Probiotics, Lactose Intolerence. History Of Endometriosis. Guide

I am lactose intolerant and am fairly good with my diet and taking my probiotics. I also have a history of endometriosis, but it has been almost 8 years since my last laporoscopy. I have been experiencing sharp, intense pangs on the right side throughout the day. I have been tracking this pain for a few months and it seems to be occurring after my period. What should my next steps be?

Hi,
With the past history of endometriosis, I would ask for a gynecological check up, a trans-vaginal sonogram and a laparoscopy repeated if necessary to see the extent of endometriosis and if it needs any active intervention. If you manage your diet properly, lactose intolerance should not cause you any problem. Pelvic infections should also be ruled out. Meanwhile, you can alleviate the pain by using the combination of analgesic and anti-spasmodic medication. Urinalysis also should be done. Hope you find this information useful. Wish you good health.
