Pregnant. Having Faintiness, Senseless Shoulders, Dizziness, Sleepiness. Prescribed Adalat Retard Tablet. Safe To Take During Pregnancy?

my doctor prescribe me to take Adalat retard tablet,i am pregnant and entering into 9th month. Actually i feel like getting faint.shoulders become kind of senseless and feel dizzy kind of feeling sleepy.i just want to know that is it good to take this medicine ADALAT RETARD half tablet of 20 mg twice a day.i am afraid of taking this tablet at the same time afraid of my situation that i mention

Adalat Retard contains nifedipine, which is given for preventing preterm labour in patients prone to it.
Your doctor must have found some sign or symptom, which puts you at risk for preterm labour, and hence the medication would have been prescribed.
Dizziness, sleepiness are common side effects of this medicine.
Your treating doctor would be the best person to highlight the need and indication for this treatment.
however, it is safe to continue taking it, just make sure you do not get up from lying down position too fast.
Monitor your blood pressure, as the drug can cause hypotension.
