How To Treat Vaginal Bleed Post Pap Test?

I had a pap test 3 weeks ago and I had light bleeding afterwards for the irst time ever. (I'm 40). I had sex two nights ago and had the same light bleeding and then last night where the bleeding was a little heavier but still subsided shortly after. I've also had a vaginal repair a year ago for a posterior and smal anterior prolapse

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi,

I think that this bleeding can be caused due to trauma to the internal organs following sexual intercourse especially in your anterior and posterior vaginal fornix, Pap smear test usually don't cause bleeding. I would suggest you to start a course of tranaxemic acids and do a blood test for bleeding time and clotting time.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
