How To Check Extreme Hair Loss And What Are The Hair Transplant Options In India?

Hello Doctor !

I am a 27 years old, male. I am suffering from hair loss since last 6-7 years. Although my parents are not having any hair loss problems, but i have lost many hairs since i went to Kota for business purpose 6 years back. You can say that the front part is having minimum hair and scalp is almost visible, but back and side parts are fine. I would like to a few tips from you for hair regrowth and if possible, please let me know about the hair transplant options in India from where i can get rid of this.

Regards

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM

I would keep a possibility of Androgenetic alopecia in your case

Thinning and receding hair line in males is classical of Male pattern Androgenetic Alopecia (MAGA) also simply known as Androgenetic alopecia. Scalp hairs are genetically programmed for progressive thinning under the influence of hormones (Testosterone).

Hair loss has a pattern to it in these kinds of hair loss e.g Teens usually have some Temporal recession which is then followed by deepening of Temporal recession (the earliest stage of Male Hair Loss) leading further to early hair loss in the crown (vertex) and later to further frontal hair loss and enlargement of vertex and so on... By this time people usually become concerned about their receding hair line.

Treatment modalities include Topical Minoxodil 5% solution and oral finasteride. Their are well controlled trials and US FDA approval for them for this kind of hair loss in males. Treatment is long term.

Hair transplant is the best option available for this kind of hair loss but it is not usually advisable to undergo hair transplant till your alopecia is not yet fully evolved or is still progressive. Hair transplant in india is mostly done by a lot of plastic surgeons. You can explore that option in and around your area and till that time i would advice that you start with Minoxidil and Finasteride to arrest further progress.

take care
