What Are The After Effects Of Plastic Surgery?

I have had a scar revision done 2 months ago under my left breast from a mastopexy augmentation a year ago. My plastic surgeon has told me that my skin is now very thin, and the stitches and skin keep breaking open. In the past 2 months the skin and stitches have opened up 8 different times. They can not seem to come up with a solution and I am in constant pain. I can feel my skin ripping and I haven t been able to work. My honeymoon was ruined because of this and now I am missing out on my only other vacation due to severe pain. I don t know what to do any more. Help PLEASE!

Hi,

It's important to continue working with your plastic surgeon and keeping them updated on your progress. They may need to consider alternative techniques for the revision or use specialized materials to reinforce the skin. They may also refer you to a wound care specialist or a dermatologist for additional support.

In the meantime, you may want to consider seeing a pain management specialist who can help you manage your discomfort. There are many non-opioid options available that can be effective, such as topical creams or patches, nerve blocks, or physical therapy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
