Having Endometriosis But Saline Infused Sonogram Showed Nothing. What Should I Do?
Hi I have endometriosis and I have been on my period now for 8 weeks straight and I am in a lot of pain and my doctor did a really quick saline infused sonogram and basically said that he didn t see anything but I am hurting and I don t know what to do.
There are many options for treating pain associated with endometriosis, but they will almost certainly require a long discussion with your doctor. Birth control pills are often successfully used to stop your periods and help with the pain, and that would often be a first line treatment. Other medicines such as shots to stop your periods can help as well, or progesterone pills to control your bleeding and pain can also help. Sometimes even surgery may be required. On occasion, your doctor may also need to prescribe pain medications for short term use. Since this is a very complicated disease and every individual case is different, you really need to review with your doctor which strategy will work best for you. I know that this can be very frustrating and difficult, and I am so sorry that you have to go through this, but be reassured that with proper care, most women can do well as they find which strategy works for them. I wish you the best of luck in conquering this problem. I hope this was helpful, if you have any more questions, please let me know.
