Welcome to Healthcare Magic
Usually if the Liver enzymes are elevated more than 3 times above normal it is pathological. Otherwise not to worry. Has she been tested for Hepatitis virus infection. You should provide information on which enzymes are high then we can be in better position to offer advice. Let her eat less fat diet. Eat more fresh fruits an green leafy vegetables. Drink enough water.

General & Family Physician Dr. Jitender Chauhan's  Response
Hello, welcome to Healthcaremagic. You need to specifically mention the enzyme levels. You should get your mother evaluated as she may be developing liver cirrhosis. But as you said you mom has stopped drinking her enzyme levels would reduce with time if some irreparable damage has not occured to liver. It would be advisable to you get her evaluated once by a specialist. Wish you good health.

Hello.Welcome.Liver enzymes remain elevated for quite sometime after stopping alcohol intake. It is good she doesn't have any problem.Keep a regular check on her liver enzymes and keep getting a regular USG abdomen done.If she doesn't start drinking again she would be normal.Good luck.
