Does Having Thick White And Red Mushy Discharge After Taking Oral And Vaginal Flagyl Indicates Yeast Infection?

After two days of taking oral and vaginal flagyl for BV I have noticed thick white discharge like a yeast infection as well as thick red mushy discharge. Iv been treated before with flagyl and never had this reaction. Could it possibly be a yeast infection? Is my vaginal allergic to the gel? Please help

OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Sometimes vaginal tablet comes out as thick vaginal discharge in the next day morning.
And inserting the vaginal tablet can lead to small abrasions and spotting.
That could be one reason for your symptoms.
Sometimes antibiotics can flare up fungal infection.
Better to complete the antibiotics first.
If thick vaginal discharge etc persists, consult gynecologist once and get examined.
If needed go for vaginal swab culture and sensitivity.
According to that, the causative organism can be identified and treatment can be taken.
Take care.
