hi,
thank you for your query.

high lymphocytes are generally seen in cases of infections mostly viral.
since you are already suffering from cold and cough ,it explains the rise in the lymphocytes.

the pain in the neck and occipital zone is called occipital neuralgia
it can be due to-
1.reffered pain due to sinusitis.
2. physical stress such as repetitious neck contraction, flexion or extension

since you are already complaining of cold and cough, sinusitis can develop..hence the GP's advice for temp. monitioring.
if you develop fever pls start antibiotics. amoxicillin/clavulanate can be taken if not improve after 7 days.
in the meantime keep taking steaming and you can use nasal sprays.

thank you,
wishing you good health
