Are Night Sweats And Swollen Lymph Nodes Signs Of Lymphoma?

Hi, I have an enlarge tonsil on the right side and swollen lymph nodes in my neck. I also wake up most nights drenched in sweat and my temperature changes from very high to very low quite quickly. I was hoping to see whether there was anything other than lymphoma this could be.

These symptoms are concerning for lymphoma, although they could represent a number of other conditions including infections such as tuberculosis.

Hello and welcome to HCM..
Thank you for posting your query and I'm here to answer your question..
I read your question completely and have understood it well enough.

I being a surgeon, we encounter so many such cases and I suggest you not to think of such bad diseases.
Why do you want to attract lymphoma tell me!!

In one way, you are right. Early diagnosis and treatment can be done..
But, what made you suspect this disease!?

Please note these following things..

1. Need your age and gender. Like all diseases, even lymphoma is age and gender specific

2. Look, enlarged tonsils leading to tonsillitis itself is a reason for enlarged neck nodes.
Most commonly jugulo diagastric group of lymph nodes are enlarged.
So it could very well be simple tonsillitis..

3. Again in tonsillitis, we do see fever and occasionally with fever, some people get night sweat.

All in all, I'm not trying to give you false assurances.. This may just be the case..

Anyway, please do the following things and we can confirm..
1. Treat your self for tonsillitis..
Amox clav is the best drug for that.. Gargle with betadine mouth gargle..

2. Get an FNAC done for the neck swelling. It will tell us what exactly you are suffering from.

3. If FNAC is inconclusive, then we can go ahead for biopsy..
This is gold Standard for the diagnosis of lymphoma.

We can see later what to do.. I will suggest you..
But I hope and pray that it's not lymphoma..
Take care friend and God bless you..
