Brief Answer:
You can take thyronorm during pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks once again for writing to us.

I can understand your concern.

I have gone through your history and these are my opinion about it.

- If you conceive on hypothyroid medication, you should continue it as it is safe and not harmful to your baby.
- It is really important to take hypothyroid drug and maintain your thyroid level during pregnancy. It is a vital hormone important during the first trimester of pregnancy as it helps in the fetal brain development and you need to continue the medication in your whole pregnancy.
- To determine the doses you should go for TSH level every 4 weeks in the first half of pregnancy and try to achieve a level below 2.5.
- If you maintain your thyroid level during pregnancy, there is no harm to you and your baby.
- You should consume high protein diet, whole grain, a diet rich in iodine with low carbohydrate, take dairy products with lots of fruits and vegetables.
- You can choose a multivitamin rich in iodine.
- You should take folic acid tablets.

Please do not take stress if you are pregnant, you should confer with your treating physician and regulate your thyroid medication under the doctor's supervision because during pregnancy thyroid demand increases.

Hope it is useful, feel free to ask more questions.

Good luck.
Regards
Dr.Richa
