What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: My blood work was on april 14 2017 AST(sgot) 32 and ALT(sgpt) was 35
2 weeks later it was AST 42 and ALT 54. I have had a horribly itchy rash since december, we are currently testing for allergies. why the increase of the ast and alt, i am concerned. i am a 52 year old female, currently on a meal replacement diet.

Minor fluctuations can occur due to laboratory error or due to sample variations but even them, it can be significant trend and need to be followed further by repeating it after a week as acute hepatitis or liver pathology may present early with rising enzyme levels.
Also workup for viral serologies and lipid profile as well as ultrasound liver to look for any structural changes may be done. If these are normal, there is nothing to worry about then.
Though your drug history doesn't contain significantly hepatotoxic drug which can alter liver enzymes but avoiding analgesics can be right approach as well try to improve hydration.
You didn't mention the Bilirubin here as any rise can also cause itching as you mentioned as main complaint recently. Further evaluation of allergic rash and testing for skin allergies can be continued here. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
