Brief Answer:
There are six factors that detect the risk

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM. Thank your for your question.

I understand your concern.

There are six major factors that work all together to establish the risk for coronary artery disease: high blood pressure, genetic factor, tobacoo smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes and age (above 45 for male population, and above 55 for female population).

Indeed, the coronary artery disease is a process started in the early adulthood, and cholesterol should be contained within normal ranges. The figures you provided are not dramatic, especially since you are 28 years of age. As you have seen, cholesterol levels at this age are easily treated. I woukd be speculating if I would say that you are not on risk for CAD in the future, as that is what I should say even to myself, that I have high cholesterol levels. But, only cholesterol levels combined with young age, cannot be considered as risk factor, however its levels should be controlled for the future. As a cardiology sepacialist, I will not recommend you XXXXXXX drug, merely the following regimen and lifestyle changes:
- 60 minutes a day of physical exercise, walking, jogging, biking, swimming etc
- red or raw meat maximum once a week, more poultry and fish
- 200-300 g fruit and green leafy vegetables a day
- restrict your alcohol intake to 30 g ethanol a day, two beers, one glass of wine or one shot of a heavy drink

I hope my answer is helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up question(s).

Best regards,
Dr. Meriton
