What Causes Sudden Pain In Right Wrist?

default
Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015
Question: Hi about 5 weeks ago I felt a sudden pain in my right wrist ( I did knock it or anything) and when I look my vein looked big and blue, about 20 min later the pain was not as bad and the swelling had gone down and a bruise began to appear. It remained for about a week and it was quite large and dark. Now it has happened again sort of I had a jumper on so I didn't pay much attention earlier when it was very itchy but as I changed my clothes there's the same bruise as before. Do I need to see anyone about this?

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

If you are having spontaneous bruises or large bruises form minor trauma ,it might indicate a coagulation problem.
I would suggest to consult your doctor and he can order some tests to evaluate the ability of your blood to coagulate like complete blood count ,platelet count,Prothrombin Time,Bleeding Time.

If these tests are normal ,then you don't need to worry.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you need further help or any clarification.

Kind regards,
