What Causes Spotting Along With Delayed Periods?

Question: Hello. I am 24 yo. I had a partner for 5 years and recently I started dating a new one. We use the pull out method. I was diagnosed with HPV three years ago. The symptoms weared off and I have been having a Pap smear every year ever since. Recently. For the past 8 month I've had irregular periods. To which the doctor said is caused by hormonal imbalance due to flying and stress( I'm cabin crew) I started to excersise and eat health and sleep well. However, I recently got an yeast infection for the first time, which was cleared. Two days ago, I started spotting a week before my period but my period didn't come. I started to have maroon sort of crumpy discharge and my period still didn't start. Please help!

Do get a urine pregnancy test

Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Spotting and delayed periods can be due to pregnancy or any hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism. Local lesions in cervix or vagina including cervical cancer can cause spotting but delayed periods are not present in that case.
Pull out method during intercourse has a very high failure rate in preventing pregnancy, and hence pregnancy is a possibility.
I would suggest you to get a urine pregnancy test done and further management should be done accordingly.
