What Causes Severe Abdominal And Back Pain?

Question: Hi Dr,
My wife had 2nd IUI on cd15 (Jan 22 ).Today it is 18DPIUI(Feb8th). Stomach pain Stomach heaviness Back pain.
Please suggest.

Hi,

If your wife has not got periods do a urine pregnancy test at home. if positive consult your doctor as some medicines will be given to support pregnancy. These symptoms may be indicative of implantation. If test is negative then it may be premenstrual symptom. Wait for her periods after stopping all the medicines.

Hi, I think she should stop all the medicines which she is taking. If she was taking any progesterone, she will get her periods within 1 to 2 weeks of stopping it.

Hi, you can wait for one more week. If still periods don't come, then she may need another medicine to get her periods. Go for a repeat pregnancy test and an ultrasound after 1 week, if periods don't come. Then, consult a doctor. She may need a combination of estrogen and progesterone for 1 week to get her periods. But, it is very likely that she will get her periods in 1 week, if follicle had ruptured. Dont worry too much. Hope I have answered your question.
