Question: I have a rash with red bumps, hives, itchy and located in my left groin area and above my pubic hair. Got it two nights ago

Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
It appears that you have lesion only on one side .
These if along dermatome pattern may be due to herpes zoster.It may be associated with burning sensation or pain. If so treatment should be initiated at earliest with antivirals like acyclovir .
So please consult your doctor immediately for diagnosis and initiation of treatment.
These can have post neuralgia like symptoms later.
If only itching it may be allergic contact dermatitis also.

Thank you for follow up query.
Zoster vaccine is usually not given during presence of rash.It is given after disappearance of rash.
These can be given even in those with prior zoster history.
It may reduce chances of recurrence of zoster and post herpetic neuralgia.
