Suggest treatment for rashes on the shin

Question: I am 67 years old in good health and 4 days ago after mowing the yard I noticed like a shin rash or bug bit. Then it looked like some bug was bit
ing me in several places . This is on the side of my left hip. the rash has grown and it starting to hurt any ideas

I am Dr. kakkar (Dermatologist). I have noted your concern and I have viewed the image.

Perhaps it is Shingles i.e Herpes Zoster rather than an insect bite. Shingles usually presents as grouped red bumps/ papules, some or all of which may be fluid filled. The distribution is unilateral and in a band or stripe lke pattern. There is associated pain which may have a burning or shooting quality. Shingles is caused by reactivation of Varicella Zoster Virus (VZV) which is the same virus that causes Chicken Pox.
