Brief Answer:
It may be due to an infection, will need some more information from you.

Detailed Answer:
Hello there , Welcome to HealthCareMagic.

I understand your concern.

In my opinion the bump might be due to different causes like :-

1)Folliculitis - Inflammation of the Hair follicle due to an infection
2)Sebaceous cyst - Blockage of the sweat or oil glands in the skin
3)Associated with a Sexually transmitted infection.

To try and narrow down the possibilities, I need to know:-
1)When did you notice the bump?
2)Is it associated with pain, itching or redness?
3)What is its size?
4)Are you sexually active?

Kindly provide me the information for further discussion.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Best regards...

Brief Answer:
it might be infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to healthcare magic.I got your information.
In my opinion your history suggests following possibilities:-
1)Folliculitis:-it is the infection of hair follicle.
2)sebaceous cyst:-It is the infection of sebaceous gland which are present in that area.
Apply mupirocin ointment and give hot fomentation.Take paracetamol or brufen for pain.Wear loose cotton inners.Mostly it will subside by following the above measures.
If its size increase or any fever occurs you might need a course of antibiotics after consulting the doctor.
If it is persistently present and develop into ulcer you might need any investigations like VDRL to rule out syphilis and other sexually transmitted infections(STD).Iam not diagnosing any condition but just giving you the information. So dont worry.
The folliculitis and sebaceous cyst are commonly seen in clinical practice.
Maintain personal hygiene and use mild soap always to wash perineal area to prevent the infection.Practice safe sex using condom to avoid STDs.
Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to ask any more queries.
Best regards...Dr.srilatha
