What Causes Irregular Periods Along With Breast Tenderness?
Question: I have hypothyroid and on medication 100 MCG eltroxin and aged 26yrs. I have irregular periods and have seen doctor many times regarding this. My doctor asked me to have meprate if periods don't come in 45 days. Now its around 49 days. But from 4-5 days I am experiencing breast tenderness and getting a feeling of periods approaching. So should I wait now or take the tablet Meprate? And just to add I want to conceive .

Irregular periods is most probably due to PCOD(polycystic ovary disease), if your thyroid hormone levels are normal and you are taking eltroxin regularly.
Take tablet separate as advised and get an ultrasound done on day 2 of periods to see for condition of ovaries and thus presence of PCOD.
Now if you want to conceive you need to opt for follicular study by ultrasound to see for follicular growth and release of egg from your ovary.
This way you will be sure about the fertile says and thus time your intercourse according to that.
Otherwise only cause of not conceiving in your case is bad coordination between intercourse and rupture of egg as because of irregular cycles, timing of ovulation will vary in every cycle.

Is ovulation predictor kit effective or I should go for the ultrasound immediately?

Ovulation prediction kit is a good method but as your periods are very irregular, at least one cycle of ultrasound to see the growth of follicle and release of egg is must to gauze if ovulation is actually occurring or not.
Moreover ovulation prediction kit will be needed in a quantity of at least 10-12 kits (each costing 100-120 rupees) in each cycle and in case ovulation is not occurring only then this whole fiasco goes useless.

When should this ultrasound be done? After I get my periods or I can get it even now.

Hello mam.. Sorry to disturb you. Actually I am in a great dilemma. I am experiencing pain in my breasts and sometimes it seems periods are approaching. Should I wait for periods to come naturally or take meprate tablets? Will the tablets disturb my natural ovulatiin cycle and all? Also please advise how it should be taken
