Brief Answer:
it is due to viral infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

It is pretty common for a viral infection like common cold or flu to cause a hyper-sensitivity of skin to touch and other stimulus like cold and hot.
This is another symptom of a viral infection ,although is less common than other symptoms like cough, runny nose, fever etc.
A viral infection causes an inflammatory response in our body and this is responsible for such symptoms including skin sensitivity.

A viral infection can also cause skin rash and this can be the cause of your increased skin sensitivity. So if the skin on your back is red and irritated ,this might be the cause.

You don't need to worry. It is not of concern and would resolve on it's own .
You can take Ibuprofen of Paracetamol to ease the symptoms.
Taking a hot shower can help if your skin is sensitive to cold only.

You need to rest a lot, eat well and drink plenty of fluids.

If the symptoms of skin sensitivity doesn't improve in 1 week-10 days ,you may consider consulting your physician and get examined.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any other question.I will be happy to help.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
