Brief Answer:
Pictures needed

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am Dr Mittal.
I have read your message.
I think I can help you.
First, I would suggest that you upload the picture.
As of now, that's not yet uploaded.
I request you to upload it again.
Second, does the child have any other symptom? Like weight loss or excess thirst? This would be easier to judge if you compare the child to others of his age group.
Third, any test done so far?
Please let me know the above information for further information.
Best of luck. Dr Mittal

Hi,

He had lost some 300-400 gms in a week when he a cold and couldn't eat. Otherwise nothing specific.
We had a urine test done before some time for UTI and a blood test at the time of cold. I would attach those reports too. Please have a look.

Brief Answer:
Possible. Needs test

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
And apologies for the inconvenience caused by the delay.
The ring you have mentioned can possibly be significant.
It's not fully developed for acanthosis. But is very suspiciously similar.
I would suggest that you test with FBS HBA1C AND TSH.
It's best to test because that's the only sure shot way of making sure.
Please get the tests and let me know the reports for further information.
Best of luck.

Hi,

The urine test done before two weeks shows no glucose or ketones in urine. Wouldn't that rule out diabetes? Please let me know. I will take all the tests at the earliest but this will help me feel better if it could be ruled out asap.

Brief Answer:
doesnt rule out diabetes

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
No. That does not rule out diabetes.
The blood tests are needed.
As long as the kidney is fine, urine glucose will be normal.
Let me know the reports.
Best of luck.

Brief Answer:
Sugars are fine

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your response.
First, sugars and thyroid reports are fine.
TSH is slightly higher. buT don't worry about it as t3 t4 are normal.
Just test it at a later date.
However, hemoglobin is on lower side.
You may need to consider Deworming the child.
Best of luck.

Thank you. will deworming help in increasing hbg? Also, the latest report shows a decrease in rbc count from earlier. is it ok?

Brief Answer:
Suggestions and explanations

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Hemoglobin and rbc count are related.
So increase in one goes hand in hand with the other.
At 3 years of age, the most common cause of anemia is worms. So yes, I expect it will help improve the hemoglobin.
Adding fruits like iron should support the child as his hemoglobin improves.
Hemoglobin will need to be repeated about a month after the Deworming. TSH may be repeated at the same time.
If the levels are still low, a more detailed investigation may be needed then.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem.

Best of luck. Dr Mittal.
