Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I pill has this distinct side effect of delaying or preponing your expected periods.
I pill intake is the most possible reason for the menstrual delay.
Also, with that, the stress that you have undergone.
As the pregnancy test is negative, do not worry at all.
Did you have sex after the 19th of APril
Since you had irregular period in April too, if you fail to menstruate by a week more, please consult a gynecologist.
Go for an internal evaluation - per vaginum and per speculum.
Also a pelvic transvaginal ultrasound scan and hormones - FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, OGTT, DHEAS, Free testosterone.
This will exclude conditions like hypothyroidism, Polycystic Ovarian disease etc ( PCOD ).
Common reasons maybe stress, anxiety, weight gain , erratic eating, late nights, smoking, drinking, travelling, ingestion of hormonal medications etc.
All the best.
Please feel free to discuss further.

Hi doctor XXXXXXX ,
I have had no sex at all since 20th April . Also I had been travelling outside the country for the last 3 weeks which was very hectic and physically strenuous tour( involved travel across multiple time zones, very little sleep coupled with the stress of delayed periods ) . I had undergone routine health check up tests in last week of March including ultrasound . There is no PCOD as that was ruled out by the radiologist and nothing amiss in the basic tsh thing.. Also the April periods were extended (I have bleeding for only 4-5 days usually . I took I pill on the 4th day of my period I.e on 20th April and bleeding went on till 28th or longer though the flow wasn't heavy ( it was spotting type ) ( pls read the earlier date of 19th April as 20th April I.e I popped the pill on the same day of unprotected sex) ..till when should I wait for periods to recur ? At the moment I'm getting the transparent discharge which happens as part of routine cycle too.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Apart from the scan, get the other hormones done too.
Sometimes PCOD is diagnosed on hormonal basis, apart from radiological image.
Stress and travelling could have caused this menstrual delay.
I would ask you to get the workup done if you fail to menstruate by Monday.
