Question: Doctor, I am type 2 diabetic since past 4 years. My sugar is well controlled having Hba1c 6.1, but my serum creatinine level is 1.58. Is it a matter of concern ? My BUN level is also controlled

The fact remains that the creatinine will rise gradually as the duration of diabetes increases. Also, the medicines you are taking can slip the creatinine into the higher than normal zone. I would suggest hydrating yourself well and then repeat the test. If it's still high, you might want to consider changing to insulin.
