Brief Answer:
Could be a keloid

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. It seems that your husband has developed a keloid or hypertrophied scar. I would request you to upload an image. It would help me to confirm. As of now, you may take some antiallergic like cetirizine once daily for few days to take care of the itchiness. You may feel free to apply some emollient or moisturizer like calamine lotion or aloe vera lotion.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
