Posted on Wed, 29 Jun 2016
Question: Hi Dr, I am traveling outside XXXXXXX for a week and just relised that I gorgot my regular medicines at home . I am here till this week end. Befors starting from XXXXXXX I completed my all blood test and reports were ok, everthing is under control.

Unlike XXXXXXX here chemist is asking for local Dr prescription for medicines which ia little complicated fue to oocal laws.

I ammgoing to be here for another 4 days. The only iption i had is Dispein in place of eco sprin which had half tablet . Colestrol tablet i can manage as i am controling my food intake high in colestrol. The other 2 medicine which i am taking regularly are Met xl for bp and heart beat control and Prax.

My heart Angiplasty history is 2 year old now i have been doing regular test after regular intervals including CT to check heart and stent history everyhing is perfectly alright.

Now since i would not be able to take these medicines for 4 days. What precautin i should take beside regular exercise, half disprin and diet control.

Thanks

XXXX

Brief Answer:
No major reason for worry as you have got only 4days

Detailed Answer:
Hi ,

Ideally you could have carried as its impossible to get the medicines just like that anywhere and they are very expensive as well. Since you are two years away from angioplasty and reports are normal there should not be worry on not taking the prax. Also your metaprolol is in such low dose it should be fine to skip it for few days and restart immediately after coming back.

Meanwhile if you have any chest pain, palpitation or any other symptoms you need to go and see the doctor locally immediately.
