Answered by Dr. Chintan Solanki (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
daily anti viral tablets and use of latex condoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us. The 100% effective method is no sex at all as none of the methods has proven efficacy up to 100%. However using two methods simultaneously gives the maximum protection.

Using antiviral drugs like acyclovir or valacyclovir daily for long is the one approach.

Second one is using latex condom in right manner. You can find the same in following link.
http://www.cdc.gov/teenpregnancy/pdf/teen-condom-fact-sheet-2015.pdf

With use of both preventive measures together prevention of transmission remains more than 90%.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.
Regards,
Dr.Chintan Solanki.

Brief Answer:
clinical examination, history and blood tests are required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

To determine cause of sores history, clinical examination and blood tests are required. If there is positive Herpes Ig M and/or Ig G antibody test, possibility of herpes infection is there. In general herpes labialis occurs when immunity decreases due to any other infection. From history it can be determined.
Otherwise bleach can cause allergic dermatitis and precipitate sore. You may feel that bleach is the culprit but in actual bleach is the precipitating factor which activates dormant virus. Taking acyclovir prevent/treat sores fast.

Hope you are clear now.

Brief Answer:
need proper nutrition with multivitamins

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

During outbreaks you should take care of your nutrition. Due to malaise you may miss or reduce your meals and that is the likely reason for tiredness.
Just take care that you should take adequate meals and nutrition (including fruits and vegetables). You can ask your doctor to prescribe some multivitamin capsules.

Take care.

Answered by Dr. Chintan Solanki (46 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
not serious infection, treatable with current medicines

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for query.

Infection of eyes and brain by herpes virus is very less occurrence. With early diagnosis and newly developed anti-viral medicines even these infections are treatable. In most of the cases early diagnosis and treatment of herpes prevents effects on brain and eyes. No need to worry about the same. Just keep following your treating doctor's advice.

Wish you good health.

Do we get itchiness over the body in herpes...or inflammed red rash on back n hand....my gp said its fungal n gave trfy cream...its diminishin nw...
doctor
Answered by Dr. Chintan Solanki (48 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
itchiness can present but not rash on back and hand

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Itchiness can occur during outbreak due to systemic response of the body. However Genital herpes never involves back and hand. Your GP is likely right that it is something else eczema or fungal infection.

Take care.
