Hello, I am an eczema patient and i have this since i was 2. I am currently 15 years old. My height is 5.5ft and weight is 65 kilograms. I would like to know if there is any way that my eczema would go away or a way to reduce it a lot currently. If my eczema would go, by what age would it? My doctors here told me it would go by the age of 14 - 15 but I don't see any signs of this disappearing.

my daughters baby has coughed since birth and both doctor and health visitor have said she is healthy. she has now noticed little patches on wrists and knees that look like eczema could she be asthmatic - she is almost 4 months and otherwise very happy and healthy?

doctor1 MD

Hi
It is less likely that she is asthmatic as asthma develops after some time and not since birth. She may have hyperreactive airway. But till the time child is growing well and is active for her age you need not worry about it. There are some happy wheezers child they also don't need treatment....

Hi, My daughter is having eczema for last 2 years. We visited several doctors, but skin is not healing at all. We tried several moisturizers, skin restore creams, etc but the problem does not solve. I am curious to know, if there is any treatement for eczema and where to visit for permanent cure?

hi there, my husband was on sandimmune for eczema almost 2 years ago. i just want to know the period we should wait to conceive. his doctor has told him to wait 2 years then try falling pregnant.. what are the effects? and is his doctor correct in waiting two years. his biological clock is ticking... thanks

doctor1 MD

Hi.

His doctor was right to ask him to wait for a while as the sperm can be slightly defective whilst on sandimmune, and it surely is a major contributing factor to birth defects. I think he should be able to start trying to conceive anything now.

Best wishes.

doctor1 MD

Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Based on the symptoms you have mentioned, I am suspecting fungal infection which is common in those areas due to increased moisture. I suggest you get a fungal culture done of skin scrapings taken from that area. Try to keep that area clean and dry as much as possible. Get a...

my 3 year old has had this problem for sometime. I thought once he was out of diapers it would finally heal, but he is completely toilet trained now and he still has issues. Only surrounding the anus he has red, sometimes raised skin that is very dry and flakes. The Ped. dr. I took him to 4 weeks ago said it was not a fungus cuz she swabbed for that. I have been checking him after each bowel movement to be sure it s kept clean. What seems to be helping the most is switching to dove bar soap and putting an organic all natural moisturizer on it that does not contain any alcohol and is full of essential fatty acides-(I use this same lotion on my face to rid me of eczema flair ups). The problem gets pretty good, but does not totally clear. When it s at it s best the skin around the anus is still discolored..but not as red, raised or flaky..The Pediatrician said she never saw something like this just localized around the anus...??? I m wondering what this could be? Is it a psoriasis?

My 64 yr old husband has been suffering from M.E. for six years. He also suffers from eczema and osteoporosis (probably caused by his having coeliac disease undetected for possibly most of his life). He has been suffering from an itch around his nipples for which the gp gave him hydrocortisone. However, now his nipples are leaking yellow/white fluid. He is 5'6" and approximately 64 kilos

I am on oral contraceptives and was on a round of antibiotics in January. Ever since then, I have been having many skin related issues. I get inflamed follicles which at first I thought were bites. I get a few each day, most go away within a day or two, but the ones on my chest remain, although faded. I have severe itching at times all over with no visible marks. I have bad dandruff, some spots of eczema. And what look like pimples on my face but don t completely go away. I ve never had pimples in my life. The itching is the worst on my scalp and outer genital area. My skin, in many places, burns at times. I also occasionally get sudden sharp pains as if someone is sticking a needle in my skin. I am now wondering if I have malassezia. Since I don t have many visible lesions, the dermatologist told me there is nothing wrong with me. I am normally a very healthy person and know that something is not right.

Hi I just recently had what i believe to be a sebecaous cyst or boil on my scalp. I applied warm compresses and used some bactroban ointment that my derm gave me for two weeks. I'm also currently on doxycycline. I see my derm due to my acne and scalp eczema. After the cyst subsided it left a small little bald spot in the area that the cyst was present. Is it possible that this small bald spot is temporary due to trama to the hair follicles from the inflamation? I thought my derm had told me once before that sometimes a localized infection such as a scalp sebeacous cyst can cause a type of temp hair loss in the area? Have you ever heard of this? Is it possible? if so, providing there's no scare tissue or damage done to the follicle, will it grow back? I'm 28 years old, 6'2, and weigh about 235 pounds.
