Brief Answer:
You can use Mucinex.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Famotidine lowers the stomach acid levels protecting it.

Steroid antiinflamatory drugs can damage your stomach and worsen the Diabetes by increasing blood glucose levels.

To relieve throat mucus is necessary for you to have as much as you can physical activity.

You can try gargle with warm water and salt, inhale steam.

You can use also mucolitic drugs ( Mucolite, Mucinex) to ease mucus elimination without affecting your stomach or Diabetes.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Aside from mucuousy feeling been having whenever eat feels like food sticks to throat so not eatting a lot thats why before knowing got ulcer had gone to Ent doctor he did test down my nose into throat he didn't see anything he said didn't mean wasn't getting spasm in throat and he gave me this steroid "flu impose" for throat cause was having swallowing problems took swallow test it was fine and told him was getting esophagus spasm cause was feeling like ball stick in throat even though catscan said I had no obstruction in my airways
It's scary when one eats how you feel something there plus when sleep like you have something in throat
The hospital didn't find anything said probably had after surgery 3-9 and symptoms started 3-16
They ruled it as "Globus" But I didn't have any problems with throat before surgery I did have a nose drip but don't know how it could be related
They gave 3 antiobiotics in IV to avoid infection
Since Diabetic so my sinus were dry so don't understand why have mucuousy throat or what feels like something stuck there even though one
Ent doctor said I was showing a little inflammation. What do you think this could be with my throat or could it be two different issues

Brief Answer:
Difficulty swallowing could be related to stomach issues.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for asking backXXXX

Mucous feeling or overproduction is more related to airway problems.

Difficulty swallowing is more related to esophageal and stomach problems including gastritis, ulcus.

In certain cases where is passage of stomach acid into esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux) increased mucus and saliva in mouth could happen too.

So, both symptoms can have the same cause.

In these cases is need for stronger treatment of stomach acidity with Omeprazole or Pantoprasole.

Lifestyle modifications help improve symptoms, these include smaller and oftentimes meals, sleeping with the head moderately elevated ( two pillows eg.),

Best regards and wishing you good health.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Nexium is okay.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.

If you use Nexium is okay for the acidity.

There is no need to use Famotidine if you use Nexium, but if you use both only once it is not a problem.

For the mucus you can use Mucinex DM.

Hope this helps.

Brief Answer:
You can use 20 mg of Famotidine.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.

If the 40 mg dosage gives you discomfort and unexpected issues, you should try half dose of Famotidine.

It is better to discuss with Gastro doctor and the possibility having a new fibrogastroscopy.

Hope I helped you.
Best regards.

Answered by Dr. Dr. Erion Spaho (15 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Slight anemia.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again XXXXX

Blood test values you refer, indicate slight anemia more probably related to Iron deficiency.

Iron level and transferrin saturation needed to evaluate further this condition.

Treatment depends on cause, if Iron deficiency then Iron supplements should be used.

Hope this helps.
