Question: 4 yr old diagnosed with having a virus today. Has been running fever and sore throat but now blisters inside his lips and mouth causing severe pain, cannot rest. What if anything could help his mouth pain?

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.


I see similar cases amongst young people who visit my clinic. I would like to ask few more details like- Does he has bleeding from nose or rashes over body ?

Simple Viral fevers or complicated fevers like dengue, malaria can involve the oral cavity leaving the painful ulcers.

I suggest you to to consult ENT surgeon and get detailed ENT examination, to rule out the extent of blisters , mucosal ulcers or involvement of other tissues like tonsil or pharynx. Do complete blood picture, platelet count,dengue profile and smear for malarial parasite. depending on findings of your blood reports, your treating Doctor will decide the appropriate dose and strength of antibiotics.


I advise you to stop giving spicy and hot diet.take plenty of fluids.Apply mouth gel with local anaesthetic preparation under medical supervision like smily or dologel.
