Arthalgia

Good evening

Thank you for writing on health care magic

Well, it looks like some form of arthalgia going on. I would like to ask you a few more questions before guiding you further to see where exactly we are heading:

1. Is it the first episode or you had symptoms before also?

2. DO you have associated neck pain ?

3. Any difficulty in turning position at night

4. Which all joints are paining for you right now? Any swelling??Is it worse in the morning?

5. Any history of fever recently??

6. Any history of urine infection or loose stools??

7. Any history of skin lesions??like psoriasis

8. Anyone in your family with similar backache complaints?

Do let me know these queries. Will try to sort it out if it is arthritis beginning or some post viral aches

Await your reply

Hey doc , sometimes I do have trouble turning at night. I don't have skin leasions or rash. I had back surgery on my L5 last December I remember the day the Dr. Told me that I needed back surgery my neck broke out in hives . My doctor gave me prescription strength cortisone that took care of it . Right before my surgery my vitamin D was low at 12. I was given an Rx strenght vitamin D that I had to take for a mo.
I have had symptoms in the past they come and go but this is the most noticeable. I have bouts of body aches when I get up in the morning.

The stomach ache is continued today. Body aches stared up again at noon and took alive and much better . I had lab work today. Vitamin D levels. TSH, LH, prolactin , sede rate, rhimatiod factor, cbc, chem panel, cPk. He's said something about a lupus panel what do you think ? Having severe fatigue.
No urine infection some loose stools. Haven't taken my temp. Other co workers are complaing of stomach problems. No neck pain .

Brief Answer:
? Inflammatory low back ache

Detailed Answer:
Good evening

Sorry for the delayed reply

Just got done with the shift

Well the sort of pain you are having looks more like an inflammatory backache...That is the pain present due to inflammation going on in the back joints rather than mechanical one( which gets aggravated with activity).

I would like to see your blood reports especially ESR and CRP to see if the backache is due to inflammation or some other reason. Once that is ruled out, at least we know there is nothing serious about it and can be managed with physiotheraphy rather than stronger medications.

Secondly, as per your history it doesnt look like Lupus. Fatigue can be due to vitamin D Defeciency also or due to the backache going on. But just fatigue, it is hard to label it as lupus

As for the stomach pain, it could be due to infection going around as lot of people around you also have the similar complaints. A Lot of times stomach pains can be linked to backache as well but only if it has been going on from before( I am not sure if it has)

But do update me on the blood reports. It will give me a better clue. Also if you could get an X RAy pelvis done, it would be helpful as well
