Question: 9 year old daughter complains of neck pain. I can feel dime sized lymph nodes on the back of her neck and she has chronic dark circles. Is this a concern?

Hello.

Does she complain of neck pain with movement? Or is it localized to the site of lymph nodes?

Regards

Brief Answer:
Oral antibiotic and oral pain killer

Detailed Answer:
Hi. Thank you.

Most likely the swollen glands are due to inflammation in their drainage area e.g scalp (may be due to a bacterial skin infection e.g scalp folliculitis). I suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic e.g amoxicillin 250mg, 3x daily for a week.
In addition she may take an oral antiinflammatory/ pain killer e.g ibuprofen 200mg, twice or thrice daily for 2-3 days.

Regards
