Brief Answer:
I will keep the possiblity of non-specific viral fever first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
Welcome to health care magic,

It is likely to be a non-specific viral fever,so I will keep this possibility first.

Regarding dengue and malaria fever,I will be able to comment only after complete medical history and routine blood works but at present i will not think about those possibilities.

Go for complete blood counts (especially check for total WBC count, platelet count and peripheral smear for malaria parasite),ESR and urinalysis.

If it is viral fever, then we can expect it to resolve spontaneously within 5-7 days even without the use of antibiotics.

Treatment is only symptomatic or supportive.

1) Take paracetamol 500 mg or ibuprofen 400 mg which is available over the counter to bring down the fever.

2) You may also take some anti-allergic medicines like levocetirizine (OTC) for a few days.

3) Drink plenty of water and fruit juices but avoid cold water and ice-cream if you have cold or chills.

4) Wash your eyes frequently with sterile water to reduce burning. You can also use antibiotic eye drops if there is associated redness.

5) Take only light or soft diet for initial few days.Avoid taking oily, spicy and out-side food.Home food is preferable.

6) Take complete bed rest until fever subsides or you feel better.

If there is anything to be concerned in your reports, then you can just let me know or nearest physician or GP visit would be advisable.

Hope this information will be helpful.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra

Dear Sir,
I have uploaded the blood reports for your reference. What is the diagnosis?
Also, Kindly suggest me what all medicines I should take and at what intervals?
Any precautions that I need to follow?
How Long it is likely to take before I become all right?
I had taken 500 mg paracetamol what made me feel OK but only for around 3-4 hrs. So how many times I can repeat it?(Just in case)

Brief Answer:
All reports are normal.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for sharing the reports.

I have gone through all the reports you uploaded which all are normal and so it is indicative if viral fever which i was expecting.

Also you typhoid fever is negative, although it was not needed but not the issue here.

As i said earlier, antibiotics usually not required in viral fever but it can be taken to prevent secondary bacterial infection or when fever goes above 104 degree F.

Take paracetamol 500 mg when there is fever. It can be taken maximum 4 times daily without any problem.paracetamol 650 mg is also available if fever does not subside with 500 mg dosage.

Take antihistamines medicines like levocetirizine (OTC) twice daily for initial few days.

Take antacids like pantoprazole 40 mg two times daily if you have some gastric issues.

Drink plenty of water with fruit juices and take complete bed rest for 2 to 3 days.

Diet as I explained earlier.

Generally viral fever may get subsided within 2 or 3 days with just symptomatic treatment but it may get extended up to 5 days occasionally. So,do not be worried.

In case, fever lasts longer or other symptoms develop then it would be advisable to seek some local physician's help.

Regards,

Dr.Sandip Kabra
