Detailed Answer:
Hello Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us at hcm.
This is Dr.Riyanka and I am glad to be helping you with your query.

Blood cholesterol of 200-239 mg/dl is considered as borderline high . Hence, you have been prescribed Rosuvastatin (Rozat 5mg) which is a cholesterol lowering drug.It has minor side effects like constipation and heart burn only in some individuals. However, if you experience fever and muscle pains kindly contact your doctor immediately.

You can take Rozat 5mg for a month and get your liver function tests done along with Creatinine Phosphokinase(CPK) levels after a month to check if the drug has suited your system and your body has got adjusted to it or not. If the liver function tests and CPK levels are normal then your doctor shall ask you to continue Rozat. If the liver enzymes are seen raised then he/she may change the medications.

Normal HDL (High density lipoproteins) i.e; the good cholesterol should be desirably around 60mg/dl. Your HDL level is 45mg/dl. You can increase the concentration of good cholesterol by taking walnuts and almonds in moderation.

Kindly also control your diet. Avoid fatty foods. Opt for fibre rich diet. Use olive oil for cooking. Do brisk walking regularly.

Hope this answers your query. Don't worry .
