What Causes Pain And Stiffness In Elbows While Taking Crestor?

I ve been taking cholesterol lowering medications for the past couple of year, first it was liptor, this year I was started on Crestor when I changed doctors. I began the Crestor 10mg daily in April, Over the last few weeks (12) i ve began experiencing pain and stiffness in both elbows, the I get pain relief with analgesics (ASA, Tylenol) and the stiff is resolved with movement. I concerned it could be related to the medication. I m 53 years old and fairly active, I do heavy gardening in my yard moving soil and stone etc.. Is this just normal arthritic changes?

Hello,

The medicine can not directly affect one single joint or such. There are going to be some side effects due to medicine but it won't target any joint. Hence, your symptoms are not related to the medicine. With the history it appears to me that you have muscle weakness and need some simple exercises which will help strengthen the arm muscles especially the triceps which will help to a good extent of pain reduction. Also, add some simple exercises for the entire body like walking climbing stairs etc., to keep body more functional.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
