Brief Answer:
Immunomodulation and Drugs

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. since attacks are common: 4-5 times a year, thus one has to Increase his Immunity and for that following are the guidelines which I usually furnish to my patients:
Rasayana drugs (Rejuvenation/Immunomodulators) should be instituted in your management as part of palliative) therapy i.e. which corrects the dysfunction of tissues without disturbing the functions of normal tissues, also Rasayana drugs potentiates humoral antibodies, by increasing serum Immunoglobulin’s such as IgA,IgG and IgM.

i. Proteins are essential for antibodies production so milk, egg (white), beans, yogurt, soyamilk, pumpkin, squash, watermelon, peanuts, almonds, if non-vegetarian (meat) are choices
ii. Vitamin A: helps to maintain Thymus gland [powerful antiviral gland] : thus XXXXXXX carrots, cantaloupe, egg yolk, apricots, pumpkin, papaya, are ideal
iii. Vitamin C: is needed for proper functioning of immune system: amla is best
iv. Vitamin E: is a powerful anti oxidant which helps to stimulate antibody production: peanuts, dried apricots, cooked spinach, taro root can be taken
v. Vitamin B is important for the activity of phagocytes: eggs, cheese, pistachio, raw garlic, sunflower and sesame oil.
vi. Ashwagandha,Mandukparni,Shatavari,Trikatu,Vacha,Guduchi, are best Immunomdulators, you can consult with an Ayurveda Physician there about the same.

2.
i. Tablet or Syrup Septilin: 2 tablets thrice daily for three months or 2 tsf thrice daily. OR
ii. Capsule tonsari: 2 cap, thrice daily for 2 months
iii. 15 ml of Dashmoolarishtam
15 ml of Draksharishtam with equal amount of water [every 3 hours]

Further Explanation

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

Line of treatment is already mentioned in 2nd point.

1. gargle with water mixed with honey or alum
2. suck khadiradi vati as lozenges [suck slowly]
3.Take tablet septilin or capsule tonsari: 2 tab/cap for 3 months [thrice a day]
PS. both the said drugs contain immunomodulation and anti inflammatory properties and also acting as natural pain killers
4. take 15ml [3 table spoon] dashmool arishta
15ml [3 table spoon] draksha arishta with equal amount of water [6 table spoon] and take it after meals [every 3 hours]
PS. fermented arishta [alcohol] is considered best in Ayurveda as giving immediate and fast action with long lasting prophylactic cover.
5. Take agastya rasyan twice daily with honey for minimum period of 6 months
6. Have sitopladi churan 3 gm mix with honey and ghee [daily]

Brief Answer:
Initial Management for later Surgery is best

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.

1. Even in Ayurveda there is mentioning of 'shastra karma' i.e. surgical correction of the disease and is mentioned under surgical disease, so one has to go sooner or later for tonsillectomy, the management will alleviate much of the symptoms associated with the disease so you can continue the said medicine for 3 months then take a gap of 1 month and again start the therapy.

PS. Infected tonsils are useless as defense mechanism and removal will not cause any harm to the body, and since you told that there was formation of Pus which was dried with use of antibiotics, so in order to prevent future recurrence, operation is helpful.

2. since the said drugs acts in building Immunity, so gradually when they overcome inflammation; lymph nodes will stop responding to infection, resulting in their regression.

PS. but since infected tonsils have become a source of infection, sooner or later they will might enlarge in response to infection.

Along with medication you have to follow below suggestions.

. maintain hydration and take liquid diet [or easy digestible food], fruit uices, vegetable soup, coconut water, vitamin E rich diet
. avoid milk, curd, sour/spicy/cold food, addiction ,pollution, head bath, showering [sponging is deal]

. for better results and relief, one can go for the said combination:
Kanchnaar guggullu 2
Kafketu ras 2
Tundikeri ras 2.. twice daily with warm water.

Recurrence is common with tonsillitis when you eat or expose to cold weather.
you need to repeat it
