Low grade fever

What is Low grade fever?

Fever, also known as pyrexia and febrile response, This results in greater heat production and efforts to conserve heat. When the set-point temperature returns to normal a person feels hot, becomes flushed, and may begin to sweat. --> This is more common in young children. Fevers do not typically go higher than 41 to 42C.

A fever can be caused by many medical conditions ranging from the not serious to potentially serious. This includes viral, bacterial and parasitic infections such as the common cold, urinary tract infections, meningitis, malaria and appendicitis among others. Non-infectious causes include vasculitis, deep vein thrombosis, side effects of medication, and cancer among others.

Treatment to reduce fever is not required. Treatment; however, may increase comfort and help a person rest. Measures such as putting a cool damp cloth on the forehead and having a slightly warm bath may help. Hyperthermia does require treatment.

Fever is one of the most common medical signs.

I had a ventral stomach hernia surgery in august, with a second surgery, due to bleeding and a blood clot that needed to be cleaned out. I also had a reaction to the medication that put me a sleep, with awful dreams, unable to sleep, etc. Also with this I had a low grade fever, and heavy nights sweats. I have been to see the doctor about this, and all they suggested is exercise and loose weight. Please advise me, as I think this is more than exercise and weight loss
before the second surgery, I was given cipro and for after surgery pain, percocet. I had issues with the percocet(dizziness, control, etc), and I was not able to finish the cipro before the second surgery. I did report issues with the sleep medication, fever and heavy night sweats. Other meds are citalopram, chlorthalidone, lorazepam. These were reported to the doctor before the first surgery.I was told this condition could last for a year..

My 13 year old daughter has complained of twisty upset stomach for 3 days now. She had a low-grade fever, but it is gone. Today she s still complaining of an upset stomach, not menstrual cramps . No vomiting , no diarrhea . She says it s not stress or anxiety , but she doesn t feel well enough to go to school. Could she have a bug or strep? In the past she had these symptoms and no sore throat, but turned out she had strep. I m debating whether to take her to the doctor because if it s viral, the doctor can t give her anything anyway, but then again, it could be strep. I think she really doesn t feel well, but my husband thinks she s faking. She said the pain was 7 on a scale of 1-10, today 6.
