Brief Answer:
BYPASS IS THE BEST

Detailed Answer:
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

He needs bypass surgery
Earlier, the better - before he gets an attack / aim is to prevent...
There are 4 significant blocks / blocks more than 70 % need intervention
Surgery is better than stent (angioplasty) in Diabetics… / better than medicine alone / Yet, surgery is only an incidence in the course of management of the – medicines before and after are a must.

Pain is often not present in Diabetics and is not at all a consideration

Take care
Good luck

sir
is there any risk involved in by pass surgery? how safe is the by pass?

Answered by Dr. Anantharamakrishnan (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
A risk worth taking / benefits outweigh

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Any surgery has a risk / even appendix operation has a risk
The risk here is small indeed / and overall, it is less than 10 % / stroke, heart attack, bleeding, infection etc. are some possible complications
Angioplasty also has its own risks
Doing nothing has more risks – sudden death, heart attack, angina, failure and so on
It is a question of risk versus benefits / and the benefits far outweigh the risks…

Sir
Is there any scope for angioplasty..?
As doctors explained for his 100% blocked artery there is corollary circulation. For rest 3 blocks can it be treated through angioplasty?

Brief Answer:
YES

Detailed Answer:
Hi

There sure is scope for angioplasty
It may not be feasible to cross some obstructions…
Bypass is a better option in Diabetics

Thanks a lot sir for your responses, its very supporting.
one more thing i would like to ask why angioplasty is not suitable in diabetics?and for how long angioplasty lasts?
his sugar is as controlled as of any normal person.please guide sir.and he is maintaining a very healthy life style since it is detected.

Brief Answer:
Better outcome

Detailed Answer:
Hi

In diabetics, block of the stent itself / and the necessity for repeat stent or bypass later on / heart attacks are statistically far higher than other people
There is growing incidence of stent blockage with time / whereas internal mammary artery grafts in bypass rarely ever get blocked
