Brief Answer:
Needs more evaluation.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

Polycystic ovarian disease is a hormone-based disorder wherein the ovaries fail to function properly and as a result there is irregular or absent ovulation. This results in irregular menstrual pattern and subfertility. This is the commonest hormone disorder during the reproductive years.

Your wife should be evaluated further to see if there are any other associated hormone defects as often happens in this condition. These include serum Prolactin levels, thyroid profile, insulin resistance test, serum DHEAS levels etc.

If you are anxious to conceive, after regularizing the cycles initially with a couple of courses of oral pills, along with Metformin, induction of ovulation is usually tried with regular monitoring.

This is not a serious condition, can be treated well and has the capacity for spontaneous regression sometimes. Your wife should maintain a healthy weight, do regular exercise and take healthy diet. This aids in the management.

Ovalife is folate used when pregnancy is contemplated. Menoreg is an ayurvedic preparation whose exact mode of action cannot be specified.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Better to get a semen test.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

I very much appreciate the way you have volunteered for the semen test. In order to leave no room for any doubt, it is always ideal to check the male factor also through a clinical evaluation and semenalysis, while treating couple infertility.

You are right about IUI. This is done to increase the chances of conception when trying for pregnancy using fertility drugs. I enclose a link for you to go through, which clearly explains the procedure, the pros and cons.
