Question: Hi, since last Tuesday I have a feeling like I'm high even though i don't take any drugs (i do smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol). I feel kinda dizzy, unaware of my surroundings, like everything is kind of in slow motion, blurry. First it started at work, and stopped when I got home, but now I feel it all the time. Could you tell me what is this and what can I do to make this go away?

Brief Answer:
EKG, blood counts, metabolic profile required before concluding cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern

The symptoms you described can be due to a number of factors and one cant fix a cause before proper workup. Hypotension (Low blood pressure) , hypoglycemia ( low blood sugar) , anemia and electrolyte abnormalities are a few to name. Any CNS depressant drug like Benzodiazepines or sedative antihistamine use can lead to similar situation. A neurological exam after a detailed history would be required to exclude any focal neurologic deficit and vertigo. If there is history of blackouts or fainting then an EKG should be done primarily. Get your blood sugar and B.P checked. Complete blood count and metabolic profile including electrolytes , renal and liver function tests should be done in consult with your doctor. Treatment would depend upon the cause.

Please consult your doctor before deciding on any further course of action

wishing you best of health

thanks
