Suggest Remedies For Persistent Throat Infection

default
Posted on Tue, 25 Oct 2016
Question: Hi,
I am XXXX and currently 29 Years old.My problem is with throat infection .All this started 3-4 years back and since then I get throat infection every 15-20 Days . Its effecting my daily life all the time I am felling feverish ,throat pain and tired. When I get this ,it usually stays for 15 days. I tried everything some doctors said it could be because of sinus ,some said it is because of allergy .Had every Antibiotic available in market from amoxicillin to azithromycin and many more . Also anti allergic. However i used to get sick in childhood also due to Tonsillitis, but that stopped when I was around 15-16 Years old. I have gone through many tests also like throat swap and all but no results .
Mainly I think its because of Allergies . Whenever i get near to mold or dusty place I catch flu and throat infection , but not sure all this is just because of Allergy or not .

Now I want to try Ayurveda and hope to get a cure . For past some time I have stopped taking medicine and just do gargels and only go to antibiotics when I get too much fever or it stays for too long.

Hope to get a satisfactory response from you .

Thanks,
XXXX XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Chronic Allergic Rhinosinusitis

Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and after reviewing your case history I'm of the following opinion:

1. As complaint is of repeated cold/allergy thus rule out visible causes first i.e. ask for hemoglobin, WBC,absolute eosinophil count and X-ray P.N.S.

2. As you suffered from Tonsillitis in childhood make sure to exclude that it is not the source of Infection and if:
. If you have more than 5 attacks [of throat pain/fever]
. If tonsillar lymph nodes are persistently enlarged and tender
. If having low grade fever, not gaining weight or anorexia
. Persistent dry cough [when no other cause is found]
Then one can safely Ask for Tonsillectomy

3. What about your immune status [case history suggest that you have a low/weak immunity/immune response]?
. do you remain hydrated or under hydrated [dehydration]?, is your living room humidified or not [is dry air not the cause of the same]?

4. In Ayurveda I usually manage my patient(s) on the line of ‘jeerna pratishyaya’ [ जीर्ण प्रतिश्याय] and advice as following:

i.Avoid: Heavy, slimy and acidic food, curd, mustard oil, excess physical exertion, sunlight-dust areas, exposure to strong winds, day sleeping, smoking . Potato, green leafy vegetables, cold water/food

ii.Take: Old brown rice, soup of moong dal, black grapes, cow’s or goat milk, garlic, lukewarm water to drink, black pepper, dried ginger, honey, mulethi, launga

iii.Take Raw ginger+ raw turmeric: [2 gm each] and fry in cow’s ghee [6 gm] and thereafter add 6 gm jaggery and take at bed time [during night]
iv.Successful prescription for you will be

a. XXXXXXX vilaas ras+ shringa bhasma+ Shuddha man shila+ madhuyashti/ sitopladi churan: twice a day with cow’s ghee

b. .Chitrak haritki: at bed time [20gm]
c.Vyoshadi churan: after meals, two times
d. Ojavriddhi [ which helps boosts immunity/Immune system]
e. Makarprash: best immunomodulator [or can think of tablet Septilin]

PS a,b,c,e medicine will be available near Ayurveda stores around your city but d,is being made by our own Pharmacy [very encouraging/effective/result oriented medicine, so will have to courier you], so if interested do let me know.

5.In Ayurveda we hold that nose is the gateway to head, thus start practicing NASYA [errhine therapy], after consulting/guidance of an Ayurveda physician [with shadbindu tail]

6.As attacks are frequent thus take

A. high protein diet ( egg (white), soyamilk, pumpkin, squash, watermelon, peanuts, almonds, if non-vegetarian (meat) are choices , legumes, sprouted pulses/cereals, milk with protein powder [is problem of nose block then avoid yogurt and beans] and deep breathing exercises [anulom vilom]

B
i. Vitamin A: helps to maintain Thymus gland which is a powerful antiviral gland: thus XXXXXXX carrots, cantaloupe , egg yolk, apricots, pumpkin, papaya, are ideal.
ii. Vitamin C: is needed for proper functioning of immune system: amla is best iii. Vitamin E: is a powerful anti oxidant which helps to stimulate antibody production: peanuts, dried apricots, cooked spinach, taro root can be taken
iv. Vitamin B is important for the activity of phagocytes: eggs, cheese, pistachio, raw garlic, sunflower and sesame oil.

PS.
i. ENT Doctor is in better position for further prognosis, but preventive and prophylactic treatment and Management has been provided

ii. Autohaemo Injection: in this 4 ml of patient's blood is withdrawn and injected immediately, deep Intra muscular, in gluteal region for stimulation of immune system.

iii. Ask a Pulmonologist regarding Influenza vaccine
