Does Excessive And Prolonged Menstrual Bleeding Cause Problems In Conceving?
It's my first time in 3 years getting the depo shot again . I had a normal period the first month . The 2nd month my period came early and I haven't stopped bleeding since then . I'm about a week away to complete the 3 months of the depo . How does bleeding this long affect my body ? Will it harm my chances of consieving soon ? How do you even know when your ovulating ? Im trying to get pregnant
Hi, Thanks for consulting us. Heavy & prolonged bleeding may cause anemia & the related complications. You should report this to your doctor & take some iron & multi-vitamin supplements. Some women develop irregular heavy bleeding after Depo shot. If you don't have any other Gynecological problem it should revert to normal pattern once you stop taking the shot. It usually takes about 6 months for normal fertility to return & usually the ovulation is associated with regular cycles. However, sometimes it may take up to 9 or 10 months for normal fertility to return & some women may conceive early on as well. Best wishes
