Hello.....
Thanks for your query. It is possible that your ex wife only had substance use disorder without any comorbid mental illness or it is possible that she had comorbid mental illnesses like anxiety disorder. The differentiation can be achieved only after a thorough psychiatric evaluation including of the period when she was abstinent for drugs. Hope you found the information useful. Wish her good health.

Hi,
Excessive substance use requiring rehabilitation, very lively and outspoken person who later developed anxiety symptoms with a past history of stressful childhood. Apart from her mother having extreme thought processes (though information is not sufficient to conclude this).
A thorough psychiatric evaluation can tell you whether in this case the stressful childhood with parental separation had made the person vulnerable in anyway or not. If there was any deviant personality traits or not? If at all present then to what extent, does it warrant a diagnosis of a personality disorder or not? In general it is seen that such patients are more vulnerable to anxiety disorders. To be able to tell, if in this case whether it was the vulnerability or the alcohol or any other stressor that caused that anxiety, one will need a psychiatric evaluation.

Hope this helps,
Dr A Rao

Hi, Your ex wife has anxietyabandonment issue, in rehab for alcohol and substance abuse, bipolar disorder. Her mother also has the same.
It appears to be a genetic issue, in such case besides medication, loving atmosphere, diversion procedures, good general health is recommennded.
Love to forget her mother is required. should not make her remember that she is abnormal.
She should practice yoga, meditation, reading books of her selection, and hearing music.
She should take green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and proteine rich foods. Thank you.
