Hi,

Welcome to HCM.

I have read your question and understand that you did not have a period for 2 years but are now having bleeding after norethisterone.

Not having a period for two years needs investigations. It would help to know your age and any other symptoms in addition to absent menses.

Regarding norethisterone helping in getting pregnancy: The bleeding after norethisterone indicates that you are having the presence of estrogen hormone [a normal female hormone ] in the body. This most likely means that the absence of menses is not likely to be due to menopause [as absent periods for more than one year comes in menopausal category]. So it is not likely to help you in conceiving.

It is better to get yourself tested for other reasons for not having period. The common ones are breast feeding, hormonal problems like thyroid imbalance, increased prolactin levels, PCOD [a condition due to hormonal imbalance leading to trapping of developing ova inside the ovary], and menopause.

A blood hormone test and ultrasound will be needed as baseline tests and it is better that you consult an infertility specialist to help you through this for optimum results.

Hope I was able to help you.
I would be happy to answer any further queries.
Have a nice day and my best wishes for you that you may conceive.
