Why My Iron Level Dropping?

Hello, I am a 54 year old male who has had excellent health my entire life. Last summer I found out I was Low in Iron, plus I began to lose weight. Since then I have lost probably 15 pounds (that could be from stress). I had my hip drilled for a bone marrow check and it came back ok. I have had numerous blood checks and will have a series of tests done by the lab as soon as I can arrange to go. How would I find out if there are bigger problems such as a cancer in my internal organs. Thank you
