It is very unlikely that you would be having abrupt onset of some pain in your arm and now at your chest too, all day and this actually be unstable angina (pain coming from your heart due to heart disease). If you are concerned, then go to the ED and have it checked out. They will take it seriously no matter how unlikely it sounds. You should note that they will take measures to rule in or rule out an acutely presenting heart condition - and will treat a heart condition if it exists. If you rule out, they may or may not treat your arm pain and they may not provide you with a diagnosis. Many, many things can account for your symptoms other than a heart attack. Only a trained medical person who can take a full medical history, do a physical exam, and do diagnostic and lab work, would be able to tell what you need to know. If you do nothing else, then take a single, full strength aspirin (NOT ibuprofen or tylenol) daily. There are no reliable home remedies for a heart attack. Good luck.

Hi,for the last two days I have been experiencing a little numbness and tingling in my left hand. Also, I think maybe I have a bit of a heart flutter. There is no real pain in my chest just a little discomfort. I have been quite stressed and unable to sleep throughout the night. I am starting to worry as I dont want to have a heart attack or anything of that nature. Is this something I should see a doctor for?

Hi there! I am a 60yr old female and for the past 4-5 weeks I have been experiencing fast heartbeats especially when I am lying in bed at night I can hear it beating like heavy drumbeats - and I notice I have been getting tired aas well- e.g. I can t stay up as late as I used to and feel really sleepy all of a sudden at times I can t keep my eyes open - apart from this I am healthy -blood pressure and sugar levels fine but cholesterol just a bit on the high side. I weigh 65 kgs(lost about 5 kgs recently) -an reasonably active as I work in the garden and walk a lot. Should I be worried about getting a heart attack/ what treatment should I be looking at?? Thank you for your time. Patrice

Uhh...I had some questions about heart attacks Im a 19 year old female. For about two weeks Ive been pretty worried about a test. I just finished the test though...And dont feel worried anymore. Well I take that back...I DO feel worried. Ive had a strange pain in my left side...Sometimes in the right side.(As of....Yesterday and all through the night on and off). The pain isnt aweful...Just irritating I guess. My stomach is making lots of sounds,My knee feels like it has pressure in it(sometimes),my bottom jaw feels like it has pressure and my tooth hurts(Also sometimes). My period did start earlier that it should have...So I assumed all was due to stress. Could it still be stress? I admit I havent been eating as well lately(junky things)..But now Im trying to drink more water again to get back into my health kick. I dunno...I figured if it was a heart attack it would have hurt worse or Id already be in the hospital...

my friend is male, 58 yrs. Had a heart attack 3 yrs ago and had a bypass. He had a mild heart attack last month no bypass.Today at his check up his cardio. dr. said that he has an 80% blockage in 4 artries not counting the ones bypassed 3yrs ago. These blockages are in places where there is a 75% chance that an operation would kill him, according to the dr. The dr said that my friend is a walking time bomb, gave him 6-8 months and added that stress, strain, physcial exertion could cause it to happen quicker.I know diet and exercise are very important in keeping a healthy heart. Is there ANYTHING my friend can do except wait?

Hi, My father is 63 years old. 2 days back he suffered a chest pain for a long time when he was walking for quite sometimes. He did some chest examinations and after he was shown a cardiologist he told that apart from a blockage in heart there is a small miocadial infarction.
I don't stay with him and i really don't know what is the his health condition and what is the immediate doable for him.
He is fine now. Some medicines are given. I don't understand was it a heart attack because the doctor haven't told like that.
I stay in Bangalore and is in Kolkata. Pls suggest the immediate doable and places where treatments would be good.
