HI my name is Cathy, I currently have sarcodosis and a type 2 diabetic. I am itching very badly. My doctor have me on hydroxyzine Hcl twice a day . But this itching is so bad I have scratch marks on my body can you help. This website stated this is free so what is with the charge.
I can understand your concern for the itching problem along with sarcodosis and a type 2 diabetes mellitus.
You haven't told us your age and related history as since how long you have the itching and the other systemic complaints.
There can be multiple causes of itching and a detailed history is required to help you better. Even then in my clinical experience both sarcodosis and a type 2 diabetes mellitus can cause itching problem.
Hydroxyzine is a sedating antihistamine and is preferably to be taken at night time. In my patients with your kind of problem I prefer to give non-sedating antihistamine at day time. I give loratadine for 1-3 times depending on the severity of the itching. It is quite safe and do not interact with other drugs of you are taking.
Hope it helps.
